In the project pack, we will first build a voltage divider, then vary the voltage in the circuit and consequently measure the current passing through a diode. We will then plot the graph between voltage and current. This graph is popularly known as VI Characteristic.

Once you plot the curve, you will learn a very peculiar thing about the nature of the current that flows through a diode after a diode starts conducting. The current through the diode increases exponentially while the voltage through it increases linearly.
